George and Patsy
What do you think about the relationship between George and Patsy? Is it what you expected? If not, how is it different?

I love it. I love how much they relied on each other for companionship and comfort. There were problems and miscommunications just like in every relationship but they seemed to really adore one another.
I loved how much they cared for each other. The were obstacles with parenting of her children but in my reading of other books on George Washington it differed a little from this book. She really did want him to discipline the children as if they were his own but had a hard time when it came right down to it. She wanted to be more lenient than he did. But in their relationship they were so close and supportive of each other. There were (and it is still the same today) few women who would have been there for their husband when he had to be away so much of their married life...and then go to the President's Mansion and put up with the horrible things that were written and said about their husband. But she was always there for him and he was for her.
