Scarlett's strength
When Scarlett pulls Tara together and declares she will never go hungry again- where does she get the strength?

She has inner strength.
That part of her that was always independent and strong willed serves her well at this point.
She is determined and willing to do what it takes.
I agree that she is determined. She is also ruthless and she was willing to do anything she had to do to get what she wanted.
She was an amazing person in the strength she had and the things she went through: working in the hospitals with injured and dying men, birthing Beau, getting Melanie and the baby to Tara, dealing with the death of her mother, her father's problems and death, running the plantation and working in the fields, having responsibility over everyone, trying to save Tara, Bonnie's death, and Melanie's death. She had strength and determination to never have her or her family go hungry again and to have money so the things she loved would not be lost and she would never have to go through such tough times again.
