Sisters

At the heart of its plot, Mansfield Park has three sisters. What kind of family life do you imagine would account for Mrs. Bertram, Mrs. Norris, and Mrs. Price?

Mrs. Bertram has a life of luxury and does not worry about anything. She lets others do that for her. She just lays around or sits around in her own little world and lets others attend to her and really doesn't seem to want to make decisions or anything. She is content to have her husband, Mrs. Morris, or Fanny run her life. Mrs. Morris is just the opposite...she wants to run everyone else's lives and make their decisions (or make them think she has made their decision for them). She is lonely since her husbands death and fills her life with the details of other family member's lives and can not stand to be left out of the goings on. Mrs. Price married below her in rank and because her family didn't approve she left her family until things didn't work out as she wanted and she was poor and in a very sad state. Then she wanted to be part of her family when things became desperate for her.
