Technology
How does technology affect the Party’s ability to control its citizens? In what ways does the Party employ technology throughout the book?

Obviously through the usage of video camera screen things everywhere. wow. I would hate that.
Yes, the telescreens! But there must be even more that I couldn't figure out at the end of the book. What he had been thinking even though he thought he was hidden from the camera and when he thought his expressions "couldn't" be seen Big Brother still knew and when he was "captured" even the thoughts he was thinking were already known.
The Party is very careful about their use of technology. Of course they have the ever invasive microphones and telescreens, but they only use technology to oppress and hold people down. The people do not have access to any technology. At one point there is a reference about how they have gone backward in many areas of technology and still plow the fields by horse, and not machines. Any advances in technology are only for the use of the Party to control it's members. Wouldn't technology be more frightening to us if we were not allowed to take part in it?
