Friends
Does Fauntleroy have the sort of friends that you would expect of a boy his age? Why are Dick and Mr. Hobbs so devoted to their young friend? What role does Mr. Havisham play in Fauntleroy's life?

Not really but he is friends with everyone. That is why everyone is so devoted to him.
He is kind and loves everyone and is devoted to them.
You can't help loving someone like that. I have know people who are so kind and loving and it does drive you to want to do anything for them.
He was friends with Dave because he liked him and felt sorry for him and his work arrangements...and he loved Mr. Hobbs because he would talk to him and counsel him and spend time with him. When Cedric had the means to help he bought Dave out and help him start his own business and continued his friendship with them both even when so far away. Mr. Havisham, as the emmisary for the Earl, provided the means for Cedric to help his friends in New York and to help and be with Cedric and Dearest on their travels to England.
