The father
Although he dies before the story begins, Fauntleroy's father still serves as a sort of character. In what ways is his presence felt? What did Fauntleroy inherit from him?

From what others say throughout the book it seems that Cedric has inherited his fathers 'looks' and 'ways' so I imagine his father was a kindhearted and loving soul.
Also, his name.
He inherited his father's good looks and because his father was an honorable and good man he inherited those qualities...because his mother was the same kind of person and set that example and taught her son of his father. Also the comments of others who knew him knew that he was an honorable and courageous and loving man. He also inherited the priviledges of the family name but didn't really enjoy those until he became the only living heir.
