Favorite books are the Anne series and Emily series by L.M Montgomery, the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling, Timeline and Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton,just about everything by Shannon Hale (especially Goose Girl and Book of A Thousand Days), the Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull, the Eragon series by Christopher Paolini, the Hunger Games trilogy and Gregor series by Suzanne Collins, the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare, and Leviathan series by Scott Westerfeld. I add to my favorites list all the time!

Pretty much only where Melanie is concerned. He seems to really care about her and want to do things for her.
He also was really nice to Wade.
I think he was generous with all the kids, especially Bonnie and of course Melanie. I think he was often motivated by generosity and love with Scarlett but always manged to protect himself by exposing ulterior motives.
To name a few:
Belle Watling - She was kind to him so he bought her "house" for her.
Melanie - Got her and her baby out of Atlanta when it was falling / Help save Ashley and the other men when they were ambushed at the "political meeting" / always kind to her.
Mammy - The gift of the red satin petticoat.
Wade / Ella / Beau / Bonnie - Treated them so kindly especially the first two even though they were the children of Scarlett's first husbands.
Served in the war towards the end.
Scarlett - Did so many kind things for her with money and being there for her when she had her nightmares.
