Rhett and Scarlett
Why do you think Rhett and Scarlett have such a hard time being honest with each other? They always seem to be trying to trick each other. Do you think they ever show real vulnerability with one another?

I think they have both been in so many fake and meaningless relationships that they don't know how to do a real one.
Also, they both like to be the one with the power and honesty and vulnerability take that power from you.
I think Rhett had a few moments but he never fully let go.
Scarlett didn't until the end.
This was what bugged me the most about them. One of them needed to budge but they had both always been the ones in charge. They couldn't show vulnerability. When they wouldn't go to each other after the miscarriage and then Bonnie's death I was so frustrated that you would have thought it was a problem in my own life. They just didn't know how to let down that wall and give anyone else control over them in any way.
I got so frustrated with that. There were so many times when the other could have known that there was love there but they were strong people and didn't want to feel vulnerable. I think Rhett was so afraid of Scarlet and how she would mock him if she knew he loved her so and she felt the same way about him. They were really at cross-purposes.
