Coward
Ashley told Scarlett, even after he fought in the war and was imprisoned, that he believes he is a coward. Why do you think he felt this way and do you agree?

I think he wants to live a certain kind of life and he isn't. He knows it isn't right to lead on Scarlett but he does it. He wants so many things but doesn't have the courage and gumption to do them.
I think he was a coward in a lot of ways.
He was totally a coward. He just rolled through life with no fight at all.
He showed courage and fought gallantly in the war and led men in battle and was a prisoner of war but when it came to a change of the life and ways he loved and letting go of Scarlet he was a coward.
