Love
When does Katniss first realize that Peeta does care for her and is trying to keep her alive? When does she realize her own feelings for him? Did Haymitch think all along that he could keep them both alive by stressing the love story? Are they actually in love?

Yes, Haymitch knows the "love" scenario will help keep them alive because the viewers will become involved in the emotions!
When she finds out that Peeta is nearly killed for letting her get away...and then later when he tells her how long he has loved her.
Yes, I think they are in love!
I agree mom. I think that Peeta is in love with her and she is unsure but does love him.
