Cruelty
What do you think is the cruelest part of the Hunger Games? What kind of people would devise this spectacle for the entertainment of their populace? Can you see parallels between these Games and the society that condones them, and other related events and cultures in the history of the world?

I think the cruelest part is having young people go out and have to kill each other to the last one.
A group of people that is so hungry for control of others that they would devise a plan that would require that kind of scenario are really sick!!
The period of the Hitler rule...he would require his men to go out and gather Jews and others and treat them cruely, put them in the concentration camps,kill them. Many of his right-hand men and soldiers love the excuse to treat others this way. Another...the Gladiators...go out and fight in an arena and people are there to watch to the kill.
The cruelest part is their ages. It is bad enough to require tributes to go in there and kill each other but to have them be children is even worse.
It makes you think of shows like survivor. They just get their fire snuffed... imagine if they were really dying. It's crazy.
