Gamemakers
Discuss the ways in which the Gamemakers control the environment and "entertainment" value of the Games. How does it affect the tributes to know they are being manipulated to make the Games more exciting for the gamblers and viewers? Does knowing she is on live TV make Katniss behave differently than she would have otherwise?

The Gamemakers control the weather, fire, etc. to get things exciting when it gets a little dull.
Also, the "love" of Peeta and Katniss was a manipulation of the viewers emotions. Her behavior was affected knowing she was being viewed and so had to act brave and wise, etc. She couldn't show how much she hated the killing and so forth that was required.
It does make her act differently because she starts to do things based on what might get her what she needs from Haymitch as well as trying to send messages to those watching as she did with her tribute to Rue.
