The household
Fraulein Rottenmeier and Grandmamma have very different methods of running the household. Who do you think is more effective?

The Grandmamma. Fraulein Rottenmeier had a chip on her shoulder. She was cranky.
Definately the Grandmamma does! She brings happiness and love and kindness in to the home ...and loving counsel...and gives Heidi a reason to want to learn to read...and see things in a more positive way. She also treats Klara so kindly and loves both of the girls so much. Rottenmeier is grouchy and unloving and treats everyone in such a strict and uncheerful manner.
Grandmamma! Once she came into the story I actually felt like Heidi could walk away from a her time in the city with positive memories. She treated Heidi with as much love and respect as her own grandchild.
