The focus of everything was mathematics and music. They were "dextrous on paper with rule, pencil, and divider yet awkward and unhandy, slow and perplexed in conceptions" of other subjects. They were bad reasoners and hated opposition. They were so worried about the sun and changes in celestial bodies and the destruction they thought would occur that they lived in constant fear. It seemed they lived in fear of so many things. The women and girls were confined to the Island in the sky and they hatd that. And I thought it was funny that they had "flappers" to bring them back to "reality" when they digressed and their mind wandered.
