perceptions

How do others' perceptions of Erik's blindness limit him? How do our false perceptions of other people limit our ability to truly see them? What kinds of false perceptions can affect all people, not merely the blind? When have you overcome a negative or limiting stereotype?

The limitations that people sometimes vocally suggested to him made hime pause and wonder if what he was trying to do was a dangerous and stupid things to do but then he knew he had to try and wanted to accomplish his goals. We sometimes may try to do more for a person with a disability thinking they can't do things when in many cases they want support but not someone to do things for them. I believe it is very easy to put limitations on ourselves and worry over fears of what might happen or what "if I fail" or what will others think of me. It would be nice if we could all be more in tune with the positive and less the negative.
