Lewis says that we are “naturally afraid” of the spiritual world. Should we be scared of it? If so,
why? If not, is our fear due to a wrong understanding of the spiritual world or a wrong reaction
to it?

We have forgotten our former life and all we know is the beauty, the love, the relationships, the experiences, the family and friends we have been a part of or have met here so this is our view of life. To leave this life and these things or to have someone we love leave is a bit "frightening" and sorrowful because this is what we know and love. To go on to the "unknown" is scary but we are told that it will be wonderful. But right now I do love this life and what I have here. Life is Good!
Well said. I think that is right on. I'm not really afraid of the afterlife or what comes next although I can't wrap my brain around it.
I am afraid of leaving my girls or having those I love leave me- not because I don't think we'll be together again but because I love having everyone here. I love life and Earth and I think that is where the fear of the unknown comes in for me.
I don't think I'm afraid of the spiritual world, but more the timing of when I or those around me go there. I want to be here with my family, and I want my family here with me. If someone were to be taken, I would be very sad, but not at all afraid of where they're going. So I think the fear that many have is more the separation, not the place.
