Rules
Kendra was generally a rule keeper, Seth a rule breaker. How did their attitudes evolve over the course of the book? What are the advantages to both attitudes? Disadvantages?

Seth drove me nuts! His Grandfather would plead with him to not do something and he would do it anyway. Curiosity can be good to a certain extent but he put lives at stake with his disregard for rules. Kendra was not a rule breaker. However they ended up having to go in to the barn when told not too and ended up helping the cow. But that again came about becuase of Seth breaking a big rule.
Seth drives me nuts too. It is so hard to watch him disobey over and over again, not seeming to learn from his mistakes.
However, sometimes I think that people might have to break the rules in order to do what is right.
Keep in mind ladies, that while Seth may have made you nuts, there really wouldn't have been any story without him. It would have just been two kids swimming in Grandpa's pool and playing with the pet chicken not knowing it was their grandma. So the advantages of being a rule breaker, is that it allowed a story to unfold.
Very true. It's kind of like Adam and Eve I guess. In essence they disobeyed the only real rule they had and if they hadn't....
