Lena
Lena spent part of her life as a naiad, in an unchanging state. What aspects of mortality did she like? What did she dislike? How do you think she felt about being returned to the water? Was it fair for the fairies to do that?

She loved the man that befriended her, loved the new feelings she had, and the friends she made. She loved life. As a naiad she reverted back to her pranks but hopefully had some remembrance of her mortal time. She did not like getting older and having it show in her looks and abilities. I felt it was unfair of the fairies to take her back to the pond ungainst her will.
Lena stated to Kendra how many things she had experienced during her years of being mortal. She was able to travel so much and learn so many things. I think she loved being active and being able to feel alive. She said that being a naiad was like being frozen in time.
She loved her husband so much that to her I think that made it all worth it.
I don't believe she would have chosen to go back to the water so I don't think it was fair for the fairies to put her back.
But she did seem a little nervous about her mortality coming to an end.
Being human Lena learned the ups and down of life. Before that she just existed. Reminds me of Adam and Eve. Life is harder when we lose that carefree innocence, but also more worthwhile. As a human she was able to experience joy and pain. She was more aware that she was alive, for better or worse. I think it would be hard to go back to that place of innocence once you know that there is more to be felt and experienced, but she didn't seem to remember her human years so at least she was unaware of what she had lost.
How funny. Just before I read your comment Julie I posted another comment on another question using Adam and Eve.
