Consequences serve an essential role for maintaining order and justice and harmony. How do laws help to keep order in Fablehaven? How were Kendra and Seth affected by the consequences of their decisions? How have the consequences of past decisions helped or hindered you?

Laws keep everything in order. In Fablehaven those laws keep the creatures from harming others or causing havoc. Seth caught a fairie and kept her in a jar which later caused him a great deal of distress. Opening the window on Midsummer Night released harm to all those at Fablehaven. We have truth and consequences in our lives, as well. Follow the commandments and blessings come. Disobey the law and punishments come. Disregard the laws of nature by jumping out of a bedroom window thinking you can fly like Superman and you fall and break a tooth!
It showed at the end how good it was that Kendra had not broken any rules. The consequence of her decision was that she was protected in a way that led to her being able to do what she had to do.
Poor Seth ran into so many unfortunate consequences and caused harm to others by refusing to heed the rules. We saw the consequences of keeping the rules when Kendra was allowed protection from danger that allowed her to save her family. See Seth, if you had just been obedient you could have had the grand adventure you were after and been the hero in the end. But I am afraid many of us are more like Seth, always learning the hard way.
