Many of the problems in Fablehaven arose as a result of decisions the characters made, often without bad intentions. Sometimes, what we don't know can hurt us. How was that true for Kendra and Seth? Are there similar examples in the world around you?

Seth was always disobeying orders from his grandfather not always knowing what the actual consequences would be but putting so many things in jeopardy. They didn't know exactly what would happen by releasing the witches last knot but knew they had to do it in order to free their grandmother, the chicken. Sometimes we have to make decisions not knowing all the answers but possibly chosing something that could harm us.
That's the thing about decisions and why it is so important to take them seriously. You never really know for sure who it will affect and what will come of it.
I agree they did some of them with good intentions so they couldn't really see the bad consequences that would follow.
I just read another book (The Five People You Meet in Heaven) that was interesting and dealt with this same question, how our lives are intertwined with others and how even our littlest decisions could make a huge impact. Anyway, the question just made me think of that.
I think we rarely fully understand the consequences that will play out because of what we say and do. You hear all the time about kids bullying other kids who then kill themselves. I am sure that is not what they intended, but that is why we need to guard our words and actions very carefully.
