Favorite books are the Anne series and Emily series by L.M Montgomery, the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling, Timeline and Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton,just about everything by Shannon Hale (especially Goose Girl and Book of A Thousand Days), the Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull, the Eragon series by Christopher Paolini, the Hunger Games trilogy and Gregor series by Suzanne Collins, the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare, and Leviathan series by Scott Westerfeld. I add to my favorites list all the time!

He knows that is his protection, help to find the dwarves, and his means of escape.
I thought it was a matter of pride. They started to respect him and see him as an asset to the group. I think he wanted to keep his secret and the glory to himself for awhile.
I felt like there were a few reasons- one that he did want to make sure he held onto it, second. Ecause he wanted to have a few tricks secret, and also because the ring has a pull on those who possess it. I would imagine that he felt that wy already.
