gift to Baby Jesus
What do the Herdmans give to the Baby Jesus on the night of the pageant? Why does this mean so much? Do you think it shows that they have changed?

They gave "Him" a ham! It was out of their gift food basket for their family. So they gave a gift to the Babe from their gift.
They gave him something that was truly a sacrifice for them and that showed that they had changed in a deeply profound way. I'm sure they wouldn't change overnight and they would still be rowdy but it shows some goodness inside that the others didn't think they possessed.
