Edgar
Think about Edgar Linton. Is he a sympathetic figure? How does he compare to Heathcliff? Is Catherine really in love with him?

I felt bad for him that he seemed to be a decent man and I don't think she really loved him. I think she cared for him but not loved him.
The only thing that bothered me was that he was so mean to Heathcliff when they were young. Everyone was just so mean to him it's no wonder he was the way he was.
I agree. He loved Catherine and was so patient with her but I think that he was not loved back the way she should have loved him...having married him. He was a nice man but not so much to Healthcliff and that started the life-long animosity.
