Wit
Does Jane Austen ridicule a particular set of people with her wit? Or is she witty at the expense of everybody? Is it possible to derive a system of values from her wit?

Absolutely! Wit is an awesome way to make the selfish and unkind ways of some people in her books to be shown for what they are and how stupid the actions and beliefs of these people are.
